What to expect

Consultation

Our board certified dermatologists will help you determine the best treatment plan for your unique skin goals. There will be time to talk through what to expect, side effects and expected results and, of course, answer any questions you may have. This can be done in advance or at the time of your treatment.

The dermatologist will prepare skin by sterilizing the injection sites with alcohol. For lips, a numbing cream will be applied.

The injections are quick and mostly-painless. We apply a cold pack before and after injections to help the treatment be as comfortable as possible. The treatment time will be between 10-30 minutes, depending on your treatment plan.

There is no downtime after your appointment. We will send you home with after care instructions and our team will check in a few days after your treatment to answer any questions. You will begin to notice results immediately.

How do Dermal Fillers work?

Fillers, for the face and lips, are made of hyaluronic acid – a natural, fully biocompatible substance. Your dermatologist will strategically inject the filler in areas of concerns to replace lost volume giving a fresh, youthful appearance.

Depending on the area to be treated, some discomfort may occur. Over-the-counter pain relievers (like Tylenol), numbing cream for lips and a cold compress is often enough to manage the discomfort.

Results will be noticed immediately and reach maximum effect after 10-14 days. In some cases it may take several weeks for the product to fully settle and for all swelling to subside.

Results will last 1 to 2 years for most facial fillers but less in some locations (such as the lips) which is usually closer to 6 months.
