Dr. Nicola Gray, MBChB, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Gray is a Dermatologist, dual-certified in Canada and South Africa. She discovered her interest in dermatology while studying at the University of Cape Town, where she completed her MBChB degree in 2013, earning the class medal for top final year student and a gold medal for overall excellence. She holds an MMed and PhD in Dermatology and has passed the Royal College of Physicians of Canada Dermatology exams.

Among her academic achievements are the 2018 Janssen Research Foundation medal and the 2022 Peter Gordon-Smith medal for top performance in the College of Dermatologists of South Africa’s Fellowship examinations.

Her initial medical training included a three-year internship and community service at a South African military hospital, covering a wide range of specialties. She then specialized in dermatology, working at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital, followed by a dermatology residency at Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Academic Hospital.

Dr. Gray is skilled in various aspects of medical dermatology, including skin diseases like atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, autoimmune skin conditions, and skin cancers. She is an active member of the Dermatology Society of South Africa and the South African Society for Dermatologic Surgery, constantly updating her knowledge through conferences and journal clubs. Her daily practice reflects her passion for dermatology, helping people from all walks of life achieve better skin health.
